Announcement of the People’s Bank of China (2022) No. 2

The People’s Bank of China is to issue the Gold and Silver Commemorative Coins for the 19th Asian Games on 28th April, 2022. The set consists of 3 coins, including one gold coin and two silver coins. All coins are legal tender of the People’s Republic of China.

1. Design of the Coins

i. Obverse Design

Each coin in the set bears the common obverse design featuring the emblem of the 19th Asian Games, the title of PRC, and the year date 2022.

ii. Reverse Design

The 5g round commemorative gold coin depicts the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Stadium accompanied with city buildings, mountains and water, osmanthus, the words “THE 19TH ASIAN GAMES HANGZHOU 2022” in Chinese and English, and the face value.

The 30g round commemorative silver coin depicts the mascots for the 19th Asian Games accompanied with the torch, with a decorative design of the Three Pools Mirroring the Moon, ribbons, the words “THE 19TH ASIAN GAMES HANGZHOU 2022” in Chinese and English, and the face value.

The 5g round commemorative silver coin depicts the E-sports version of the mascot for the 19th Asian Games, with a decorative design of symbols of the Internet and tracks, the words “THE 19TH ASIAN GAMES HANGZHOU 2022” in Chinese and English, and the face value.

II.Specification and Mintage of the Coins

The 5g round commemorative gold coin, is proof coin, has diameter of 20 mm, face value of 80 yuan, and contains 5 grams of 99.9% pure gold. The maximum mintage is 10,000 pieces.

The 30g round commemorative silver coin, is proof coin, has diameter of 40 mm, face value of 10 yuan, and contains 30 grams of 99.9% pure silver. The maximum mintage is 20,000 pieces.

The 5g round commemorative silver coin, is proof coin, has diameter of 22 mm, face value of 2 yuan, and contains 5 grams of 99.9% pure silver. The maximum mintage is 100,000 pieces.
